Family comes first for Dr. Frank Ruffino — not just in his personal life, but throughout his practice at Stoney Creek Cosmetic and Family Dentistry.

“I come from a big family and I have four young kids,” he says. “All my staff has young children, too. We know how to treat families, and that’s the whole basis of our office.”

That spacious office, just opened last August, is a lovely facility with earth tones, granite countertops, and accent stonework providing a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. “We did it up,”
Dr. Ruffino says. “Everything is brand new, from every chair to every piece of equipment.”

Keeping up with state-of-the-art technology is a point of pride. “Patients feel more comfortable with a dentist who is up on the current technology,” Dr. Ruffino says. “We are as up-to-date as you can be.”

Those innovations include digital Xrays that require less radiation; CEREC crowns that are completed in just one visit; and one of the newest technologies, the VELscope oral cancer screening system, which allows early detection of oral cancer. Patients can also become more educated by viewing actual images of their teeth via an oral camera that projects onto a large TV.

Cosmetic treatment is one of Dr. Ruffino’s specialties. “People realize now, more than ever, that their teeth are very important — not just for overall health, but for aesthetics,” Dr. Ruffino says. Clear Invisalign braces, which in most cases straighten teeth in just one year, continue to be popular.

Realizing that everyone’s worried about money these days, Dr. Ruffino offers payment plans that stretch over several months, and he also plots long-term strategies so patients can get work done a bit at a time. The one thing people should not do, he says, is assume that a beautiful smile is out of reach.
